Professor William Moersch To Present at the Wyoming Day of Percussion

University of Illinois Professor William Moersch will be presenting a number of clinics at the annual Wyoming Day of Percussion on April 13, 2019. Bill will present clinics on marimba, timpani and percussion accessories. The event will be hosted by Dr. Andrew Wheelock and will be held at:   Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts 1000 E. "Discussions in Percussion" will feature guest percussionists, educators and composers who each bring a unique perspective to the percussive arts. The Triangle

Model TR-5 "Super-Overtone" triangleThe triangle is an idiophonic musical instrument of the percussion family. It is a bar of metal, most usually steel in modern instruments, bent into a triangle shape. One of the angles is left open, with the ends of the bar not quite touching - this causes the instrument to be of indeterminate pitch. It is usually suspended from one of the other corners by a piece of thin wire or gut, leaving it free to vibrate. It is usually struck with a metal beater, giving a high-pitched, ringing tone. In folk music it is more often hooked over the hand so that one side can be damped by the fingers to vary the tone. The pitch...

Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra Visitors

Jakob Weber, Neil Grover, and Gert Sorenson Danish percussionists Gert Sorenson and Jakob Weber were in town picking out cymbals at the Zildjian factory and stopped by to visit us. They picked out a great selection of range of our products including numerous tambourines and triangles. Both perform with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra at Copenhagen Concert Hall.
