Laura Jordan Factory Visit

We were visited today by NYC based percussionist Laura Jordan. New York based percussionist Laura Jordan has performed in Europe, Canada, Mexico and throughout the United States, in venues including Avery Fisher Hall, Merkin Hall, the Massachusetts MoCa, the Skirball Center of Los Angeles, the National Geographic in Washington, and the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. Local venues include The Player’s Theater, Galapagos Arts Space, The Triad, WMP Gallery, Tribeca Arts Center, Lehman College, Public Assembly, People’s Lounge, 40C lounge and others. Laura has been featured as a marimba/percussion soloist internationally, and is an in-demand freelance chamber musician, orchestral player, drum set and world percussion specialist in the New York tri-state area. FACTORY VISIT BY URI PERCUSSION

Today, we hosted Charles Kalajian and the fine group of percussion students currently studying at the University of Rhode Island. After touring our factory, learning about our computerized drum shell machining center, and, having a delicious lunch, the students were "set loose" in our factory and allowed to take any one of our products for a test-run. It was a fun (albeit noisy) time for all!

PASIC '13 - Great Success!

We just returned from our 32nd consecutive Percussive Arts Society International Convention, and we couldn't be happier. Throughout the three-day event our booth was mobbed...MOBBED! All of our newest products were received with great excitement and enthusiasm. Both the new brass tubular triangle beaters, and unique musical anvils sold out within the first 4 hours of the show! Dozens of percussionists asked us what the new "secret" project was...that is, until they got their hands on prototypes of our ChromaTone™ seamless timpani mallets. Percussionists went wild, and for good reason: these new mallets look and sound fantastic! Using custom-made felts that are formed directly on a solid core, these mallets require no sewing and are free from the troublesome air...

Kirk Gay Joins Artist Roster

Kirk is Coordinator of Undergraduate Studies and Instructor of Music at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. He also directs the “Black Steel” steel drum ensemble. As a composer and arranger he has works published by Tapspace Publications, Alfred Publications and Pan Press Publications. His timpani etude book “Pedal to the Kettle”, released by Tapspace Publications, is used in many states for All-State auditions as well on the state solo lists. An active clinician, Kirk has presented many clinics and master classes at universities and high schools throughout the U.S and abroad. He has appeared at both PASIC and TBA as a clinician. Ensemble Evolution Factory Visit

We were visited by Maria Finkeleheimer, Jacob Remington and Charles Martin, collectively known as Ensemble Evolution. These three talented young percussionists met in Sweden while studying with our good friend Anders Astrand. On Thursday, November 14th they will be giving an exciting, multi-media presentation at PASIC '14 in Indianapolis. There trip was to our factory was to specifically find 3 differently pitched woodblocks for a clarinet and woodblock piece being premiered!
