The Oberlin Percussion Institute will be held on the campus of Oberlin Conservatory in Oberlin Ohio from June 25 to July 1, 2017. The faculty this year will include Chris Deviney (Philadelphia Orchestra), Jauvon Gilliam (National Symphony Orchestra), Mike Rosen (Oberlin Conservatory), Al Otte (Cincinnati Conservatory, Percussion Group Cincinnati) and Larry Snider (University of Akron). We recently exhibited at the Connecticut Drum Show, held in Newington, CT (a suburb of Hartford). The Grover Custom Drums exhibit was continuously jammed with drummers wanting to see and hear our custom drums. We had both an aqua sparkle and copper sparkle kit on display as well as a number of special snare drums (including our new Tourmaline Sparkle finish). Our EQlipse Dual-Apex Snare Drum received a good deal of attention, especially from drummers interested in a drum with a wide range of tuning capabilities.
We'd like to congratulate Karina Yau on the opening of INITIAL P, a percussion specialty shop located in Hong Kong.
Karina is a superb percussionist (and Grover Pro endorser) herself, having trained with our friend, Jon Haas, at NYU.

Justin Mabry, Adjunct Percussion Instructor at Mars Hill University, was a featured clinician at UVA-Wise on Friday March 17th, 2017. Justin presented master classes on rudimental drumming, and both orchestral and world percussion methods. Special emphasis was placed on practicing efficiently, a subject that is often ignored. The presentation included a discussion covering techniques for tambourine, triangle, hand cymbals, suspended cymbal, and hand drums.
We're thrilled to announce that Dr. Darin Wadley has joined the roster of Grover Pro endorsers! Dr. Wadley is the Director of Percussion Studies at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. He performs regularly as principal timpanist with the Sioux City Symphony and throughout the region in a variety of musical styles and on a wide variety of instruments including jazz drumset, solo marimba and percussion, and Trinidadian steel drums.
