Oklahoma Day of Percussion Features Tommy Dobbs

Catch Grover Endorser Tommy Dobbs this Friday Oct. 10th at the Oklahoma Day of Percussion where he'll be performing with Dr. Andy DeBoer (UAFS Professor of Clarinet) and then again with his percussion quartet, The Great Plains Percussion Group. Tommy will then head to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to give an Accessory Percussion Clinic (Tambourine, Triangle, and Crash Cymbals) for Dave Hall's Percussion Studio on Saturday, March 11th, at 2pm.  He will wrap up the weekend with a performance at the Great Plains Regional College Music Society Conference at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln with Andy DeBoer at 11:15am. Jeremy Branson Joins Artist Roster!

We have just received the endorsement of Jeremy Branson, Associate Principal Percussionist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.  Prior to his appointment in the Pittsburgh Symphony, Branson was a member of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida, under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. During that time he also played regularly with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Branson has performed under the batons of such conductors as James Conlon, Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos, Charles Dutoit, Christoph Eschenbach, Manfred Honeck, Andris Nelsons, Leonard Slatkin, Gerard Schwartz, Robert Spano, Michael Tilson Thomas and David Zinman. 13th Ohio State Percussion Ensemble Festival

Last week I had the pleasure of participating as a clinician and adjudicator for The 13th High School Percussion Ensemble festival held at Ohio State University. Hosted by Dr. Susan Powell and the OSU Percussion Studio, over one hundred young percussionists had the opportunity to perform, attend masterclasses, and work with top professionals like the fantastic Chris Norton and me. Not only did the young students perform, but, the OSU faculty, alumni and OSU ensemble also contributed top tier musical performances to the festival.
